Crème de la Chrome - 2011 Rocky Mountain Rod & Custom Car Show
2011 Thanksgiving weekend Greybeard Promotions, INC and O’Reilly Auto Parts presented the 15th Annual, Crème de la Chrome, Rocky Mountain Rod & Custom Car Show. From wall to wall in the exhibit halls cars were parked and displayed for auto enthusiasts of all ages to come and drool over the hard-work and beauty of over 500 cars, trucks, and motorcycles. The event also included automotive-related vendors, showcasing the elegance of hand painted pin-striping.
Crème de la Chrome was the theme of this year’s show and there was plenty of chrome to go around. Johnny's Auto Trim '62 Vette lit up the show floor with all of its chrome. Apollo Anton Ono’s custom Caddy even made an appearance with its highlighting of the Olympic rings as the gauges and trim. It wasn’t just the old classics at the show there were new models of Audi, Lamborghini, Ford, and even famous movie vehicles. There was a car there for everyone to see and enjoy.
After observing the awe inspired crowd and getting to look myself, I talked with an attendee who said they like coming to the Rod & Custom Car Show because the variety of different cars and level of work and passion people put into their cars, “this is the next best thing to owning one; admiring others.” A car owner said they enjoy being able to take their car out and share it with other enthusiasts that share the same passion as them.
