CU Denver Commencement
An Ending Celebrating a New Beginning
Commencement honors the achievement of one's academic goals and the beginning of the next vocational commitment. CU Denver ceremonies occur twice a year in December and May. Summer graduates are invited to participate in the fall ceremony. Participation in commencement is permitted only after a student has completed all of their degree requirements and has applied to graduate.
Tickets are not required for either commencement ceremony. Please note that seating is first-come, first-served.

Early registration for Fall Commencement has closed. To register as a late addition, please email commencement@ucdenver.edu and a representative will get back to you with next steps.
Important Information
For graduates who pre-order their cap and gown but miss the pick-up days, your gown will be available the morning of the ceremony in the Convention Center Lobby at 7:00 a.m. This is the only pickup time available. For graduates that request their gowns be shipped to their homes, please be aware of possible shipping delays and plan accordingly. If your gown does not arrive before Commencement, extras will be available on-site, free of charge.

CU Denver's commencement is an all-campus ceremony during which we recognize all doctoral, educational specialist, master's and bachelor's degree recipients.

Prohibited items:
The following items are prohibited in the Colorado Convention Center: alcohol, illegal drugs, bottles, cans, coolers, fireworks, helium balloons, confetti, aerosol cans, defensive weapons, artificial noise makers, banners, large signs, and pets (assistance animals are permitted).
