(Last chance for early season prices at final pre-season ski sale)

Denver, Colo., Aug. 17, 2015—Going, going….soon-to-be gone. Skiers and snowboarders have one last chance to get pre-season sale prices on skis, boards, boots, clothing, accessories and season passes during the 24th annual Colorado Ski and Snowboard Expo Nov. 6-8, 2015 in Hall F of the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. With discounts from 40-75 percent on gear from the 2014-15 season for adults and children, Expo is the place to snap up bargains on everything from skis and snowboards to helmets and outerwear. Admission is $15 for adults or $12 with a discount coupon available in The Denver Post or at any Colorado Ski & Golf or Colorado Ski & Sports store and online at  Kids 12 and under are free.

The Expo is so much more than a retail bonanza. Dozens of resort representatives from throughout Colorado, the western United States and Canada are also on site for the weekend with special lift and lodging offers, games, giveaways and loads of information about their resorts, and lodging properties. Procrastinators can pick up their season passes or discounted lift tickets throughout the weekend…just before the prices go up, up, up.

For kids, a cross-section of new and beloved attractions are a bigger draw than the shopping. The Epic Adventure Park debuts at this year’s Expo with a ropes course that features nine distinct obstacles to challenge the nerves and balance of participants on an airborne course that stretches above the Expo crowd. The Nordic Village Interactive Zone returns with their ski jump launcher and cross-country ski equipment for a dry land introduction to both sports plus a new biathlon demonstration. The Mountain Activity Center anchored by the fast-paced Eliteam Training Center offers a timed obstacle course that measures basic fitness and flexibility skills. Kids can compete against the clock and their friends over and over and over. In the Slackline demo and competition area, pros enthrall the audience with their jumps and maneuver on the wobbly cord. First-timers can test their agility and balance as they try to stay atop the wiggly cord. The gently-sloped Winter Park Kid’s Slope with its artificial surface offers an easy introduction to skiing for kids. The climbing wall is always a magnet for energetic youngsters. Adults that want to indulge their inner cowboy or cowgirl, can clamber up on the mechanical bull sponsored by Crested Butte Mountain Resort and take it for a minute-long spin.

For pure visual entertainment, the Skyriders! with their double trampoline exhibition and aerial antics always draws an appreciative crowd with their high-flying and flipping acrobatics. And after a long day of shopping and playing, adults can take a refreshing break with a cold brew while listening to live music in the Rocky Mountain Beer Garden.

Expo hours are noon to 10 pm on Friday, Nov. 6; Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 am to 8 pm; and Sunday, Nov. 8 from 10 am to 6 pm. For details, activity schedules and vendors, visit
