CERTIFICATIONS and RECOGNITIONS

LEED Gold Certifcation - Existing Building Operations and Maintenance: In May of 2014, the Colorado Convention Center received LEED: Existing Building Operations and Maintenance certification.

Green Meeting Industry Council Certified

ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Meetings, Events, Trade Shows, and Conferences (E2774-11) - In December 2012, the Colorado Convention Center (CCC) became the first event and conference venue in the world to be certified to the international sustainability standard introduced earlier this year to promote responsible environmental and social practices in the event industry.  In 2015, the CCC re-certified to Level 2 of the venue standard. E2774-11 is one of nine formal, voluntary standards developed by the meetings, conventions, exhibitions and events industry to provide event planners and suppliers with specifications for producing events in a more sustainable manner.  The standard specifies specific performance criteria for staff management, communications, waste management, energy, air quality, water, procurement, and community partners. EMS ISO 14001 - In December of 2009, the Colorado Convention Center received certification as part of the City of Denver’s Environmental Management System. Environmental Leadership Program, Gold Leader - In October of 2015, The Colorado Convention Center became an environmental leader, administered by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, through a voluntary program that recognizes organizations that go beyond compliance with environmental regulations and strive toward a goal of sustainability.
