Sustainability and the local community

Sustainability is not only about natural resources and the environmental, but also about the local community. Therefore, we work to implement and participate in programs that extend beyond the walls of the Convention Center and contribute to the overall benefit of the city of Denver.

Highlights

  • Donation Program: We partner with several non-profits and local organizations to donate left over conference materials. Please reference below the Donation Guide to learn more about these partnerships and what materials we accept.
  • Group Volunteer Opportunities: Denver has several organizations needing volunteers. VISIT DENVER has compiled a list of opportunities available to event organizers to engage the community and leave a positive legacy on the city.
  • Adoption Platte River Beautification: In 2010 the Colorado Convention Center adopted 8 acres of land along the Platte River in Downtown Denver. Each year, members of our team spend an afternoon working together to clean up and maintain this park. This is also a walk-able and fun volunteer opportunity for your group.
