Doing the Denver Dance

Dwight Atkinson

Artist Dwight Atkinson focused on commerce, nature and sport in his piece, Doing the Denver Dance which is located at the Theatre District and Convention Center light rail station. In order to help visitors perform their own “Dance of Denver,” the artist produced this interactive light installation with sensors and lighting. The original concept was to have a variety of illustrations and slogans light up on the steel mirror when visitors would dance in front of the art piece. Mr. Atkinson brought life to the RTD station with his creative and modern artwork of light.
